Dear candidates,

It was a pleasure to have all of you on the first day of class. Well, maybe not all of you, right? Anyway, I hope you all had a chance to learn a bit more about the exam and also about each one of you. This is what I need you all to do before our next class:

1. Create your google account so that you can start using Google Reader.

2. Subscribe to your favourite feeds at least from these 4 sources: The Guardian Unlimited, The New York Times, The Economist, and Time Magazine. If you’d like to, you’re more than welcome to subscribe to others feeds as well.

3. Subscribe to (or access) Newspod, from the BBC. You can find it on the resources page.

4. Create your blog – I recommend using WordPress.com or Blogger. However, there are different blog servers online that you may use. Make sure your blog server allows comments, though.

5. Write your article – Coursebook page 52 – exercise 2

Need ideas for your very first blog post? Here goes:

a. Try to remember the expressions and phrases we saw in class today ad make use of them into your post.

b. Write about your expectations regarding the course and your impressions after our initial talk.

c. Come up with guidelines for writing an article and share it with others. You may even, if you want to, publish your article online.

I hope this helps!
