Dear students,

  • Bring your books, dictionaries, and notebook. You CAN’T borrow anything in class, but you can use the things you’ve brought.
  • Study for you Quiz.
  • Coursebook – Read the text on page 130.
  • Workbook – page 89 – exercise 5
  • Don’t forget to visit the WIKI to find out about the composition. Your composition will be assessed based on the guidelines presented there. (http://atlantic-senior.wikispaces.com/Senior+2+-+Composition+3)

Hello guys,

How could I start this post? Maybe by telling you that I’m not threatening you, but simply suggesting you have another look at the handout, and also take a look at your book. Even though you may already be acquainted with Reported Speech, there’s always something else you may need to learn. Remember the verb forms we studied today?

Anyway, this is what you’ll need to do for next class:

Cheers,

Henrick

Hello there,

What did the teacher ask you to do today? In case you don’t remember, the teacher briefly talked about reported speech as we read through some nice faux pas. Do you remember anything else that you may want to add to the list? What about any of the new words that came up during the lesson? Oh, and I was told not to let you forget about the homework:

  • Student’s book – pages 128 and 129 – Finish what we didn’t finish in class, including reading the language summary.

And here’s the video you asked for:

Hi guys,

I hope you found today’s lesson fruitful and that it served at least as food for thought. This is the video we watched in class:

http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/eng/ken_robinson_says_schools_kill_creativity.html

And this is the other video I talked about, the one that shows the importance of collaboration:

We’ve also taken a VAK test, and if you’re looking for something a bit more descriptive in terms of your personality as a whole, this is the website I talked about: http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes1.htm

Homework for next class:

  • Composition: 2nd draft
  • Think about five regrets you have. These don’t need to be life changing experiences or moments, but just situations in which you think it would hav been better for you to have acted differently.

See you Thursday!

Dear students,

In case you still don’t know, the topic for your second composition is here.

You’ll need to join wikispaces first, and then ask for permission to join the other wiki (http://atlantic-senior.wikispaces.com), which is the one where the topics are.

Make sure you read the whole page carefully.

Deadline for first version of composition 2 – October 14.

If you have any problems, ask me before the deadline.

Dear students,

We’ve talked just a bit about the many different ways for us to express the future in English. How about having a close look at the language summary at the end of the book (Module 10) and also on the handout I gave you?

Homework?

  • Handout – Read the explanations and answer the exercises
  • Workbook – page 72

Have a great weekend!
